Is it me or is the picture in step 5 of the waves block of the month different to the instructions? I followed the instructions and the left side of my wave is straight but the picture shows it goes off at a right angle? I will send picture of mine if anyone would be kind enough who has done it all can take a look and let me know if I am right or I have got wrong before I do the others please. Many thanks Tina

Thank you Laura that?s great I just wanted to make sure it was correct before doing more. It?s my first quilt so feeling a little nervous so pleased you have now given me the confidence to carry on. Tina x

Hello, recently Debbie showed us how to do a cover stitch, I should have made a note of the date of the video but didn't. It was so helpful and such a good lesson from her that I'd really like to watch it again but can?t find it. Could anyone help please. Many thanks, Teresa

Hello. Is the secondary project missing the template for the smocking pattern? It doesn?t seem to be included. Many thanks.
Laura replied: 16 Feb 24 at 09:40
Debbie used a quilters grid and marked out the pattern requirements, the instructions explain how to mark up the fabric if you do not use the grid. You can buy the grid easily and Debbie has it on her site here https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/shop/books-haberdashery/wadding-interfacing/vlieseline-quilters-grid-price-per-metre/ Hope this helps.

Debbie made a bag with cork, I bought some cork from her at that time, ages ago but have been to frightened to cut it! Please could anyone tell me where to find what she made, so I follow her?
Vicki F replied: 15 Feb 24 at 15:28
Hi Pat. Debbie?s live stream 13/11/21 is where she makes a small bag with cork at the top and faux leather at the bottom. Not sure if that?s the one you mean. I just googled ?Debbie Shore cork bag? and a selection of videos appeared. Hope that helps!

is there a pattern for clothes for roybn the rag doll
Laura replied: 16 Feb 24 at 09:43
I think that it is only the onesie for Maddie and Robyn that is available on this site at the moment. The Make Maddie book has shirts and shorts etc that could be adapted for Robyn if you have that book.

Hi HYSC Admin I watched the replay of Debbie?s video of the block of the month live this evening and I think the segment of applying the medium triangle has been deleted as Debbie goes from applying the small triangle straight to the application of the large triangle. This omits the medium triangle finished square which should measure 4 3/4?. I think members may be getting confused when watching this as a tutorial. Please could this be checked.
Debbie replied: 14 Feb 24 at 09:26
Hi Laura, I'll double check this and get back to you, may be next week but I'm on it!

Hi all, can anyone enlighten me as to why my self healing cutting mat has very tiny threads of fabric in it in lines from where I have cut and you can see where the rotary cutter has been. Am I cutting too many layers at one time, pressing too hard, is it to do with my blade needing changing ? Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved, I'm ruining my mat and they aren't cheap are they. Thanks
April replied: 15 Feb 24 at 14:54
Yes I use an old mat for cutting fleece, interfacing and wadding. I also use a rubber to get those fibres out then pour some water on it and rub around with my hand let it soak for a while and give it a good rub with a cloth and dry it off. The water helps with the healing but it won't ever be like new you will still see those lines.

Hello I?m trying to find Debbie?s tutorial where she made a drawstring makeup pouch that opens out to a flat circle. Can anyone remember. Many thanks. Photo of what sort of thing I?m looking for but without the tab over the top.
