Hi yes thankyou barb I have played and replayed Debbie making the block I will try again tomorrow I must be missing something
Laura replied: 9 Feb 24 at 22:26
It should measure 3 1/2? when you add the small triangle to the initial square (step 2 & 3), then should measure 4 3/4? when you add the medium triangle (step 4) and then finally 6 1/2 ? when you add the large triangle (step 5). So three lots of triangle in total. I had a go this afternoon and it worked ok.

Iam working on block 2 and with the prairie points I love how they go together but are they meant to be longer than the boat block and I then trim them off to fit the top ?
Laura replied: 5 Feb 24 at 08:14
The extra length will probably be tucked under and into the seam when everything is sewn together

FAO: HYSC - I thought you had made changes to the website to show more than just nine photographs of members' project makes, but it appears not. As there are now so many more members it would be nice to see more than just nine and some will be missed as they drop off once new ones are added. Can we have an update please? Thanks
Sherry replied: 10 Feb 24 at 14:50
Thank you HYSC, it all looks fine now, much appreciated:)

Can anyone recommend a glue gun suitable for the rose table center piece and similar projects? All the ones I've used have been crappy and never work so I could use some advise on what to buy.
Amanda replied: 2 Feb 24 at 20:37
PS. I know you can use regular glue like gutermann but I'd like a glue gun :)

I'm just wondering, in the February project could you use felt to make the flowers for the centre piece ?
Laura replied: 2 Feb 24 at 11:54
I would think you could make the shapes with a very soft felt?I don?t think you would need to cut squares and fold as per the material as I would just cut the half square from the felt. Perhaps just try a couple of sample pieces to see if the felt shapes and folds in the same way as Debbie?s flowers.

Hi I've never quilted before. I've cut a couple of pieces out wrong. If in worst case scenario.I run out of certain colour will I be able to purchase more of the same colour?
Laura replied: 2 Feb 24 at 12:09
Just to add as well as it is your first quilt, make sure you read the instructions under the Welcome to the quilt heading on the project page. This will give you the instructions to cut some of your material for the larger pieces of fabric you will need for your quilt before you start so that you know that you will have enough fabric for these larger pieces put back for when you need them (see excerpt from the page as follows . Before you start: I would suggest that before you start to make any of the blocks you cut out the following larger background pieces from FAB10 (sky) to ensure you have enough fabric to complete the quilt: Block 3: One 4? x 10in (11.5 x 25.5cm) strip and one 14? x 10in (37 x 25.5cm) strip Block 8: One 18? x 8? (47 x 21.5cm) strip and one 10 x 12?in (25.5 x 31.75cm) strip Block 12: One 8? x 19in (21.5 x 48.25cm) strip

Finished another quilt, same colour way as the first. I had never made a quilt until last year when I made the QAYG with Debbie, thanks to the club I am now able to do others.
