I am a new member and new to sewing. I have very much enjoyed exploring the HYSC. This is first attempt at hand sewing. I found it very therapeutic. What percentage of wool mix is the best for none squeaky felt.

Looking at the Back-pack bag, what would be a good alternative to using Kraft-tex for the bottom piece? Kind regards Lynn

You could use another non fraying material....faux leather ? Or you could use a standard fabric like the other part of the bag but you would need to add a bit when cutting out to allow for a seam. I think this is explained In the video.

I was hoping to make the embroidered felt heart for a colleague for secret Santa. Anyone have any tips to transfer the pattern on to the felt?

If you trace the pattern on grease proof paper and then pencil scribble over the pattern on the reverse side of the paper. Place the paper right way up where you want the pattern on your felt and then draw carefully but quite firmly over the lines so that the pattern transfers to the fabric. These carbon lines should be covered by your embroidery/decoration. You may want to go over the lines with a heat erasable pen direct on the felt before you sew if the transfer is feint ( Check that this works on your felt first). Hope this helps.
