Not a question. I wanted to give a shout out to all those who posted pictures of their finished Block of the Month projects, especially to Rae and Sue who finished their quilts with a 2in binding, they looked so good it has inspired me to finish mine with a 2in binding. Thanks ladies.
Blodwen replied: 22 Dec 23 at 15:14
Juliet I have put a picture of my finished quilt in the photo library for that item. As you can see I have lost most of my points as the first 3 blocks came up small and then that meant all my others were to big I then had to cut them smaller, losing the points. I thoroughly enjoyed doing it though and I am doing another one with the Pineapple ruler, great fun. If you haven?t seen that ruler look it up it?s great. Happy Christmas and happy sewing in 2024.

Hello dears. Does the binding for PIP the Rabbit have to be cut on the Bias? Can I make straight strips bias binding? We don't have here so I have to make it.
barb replied: 9 Dec 23 at 11:58
Some of the binding is for around the hat , a circle, so bias is needed to go round the curve . Strips made from the direction of the fabric wont go round this curve in the same way as bias.

Can anyone help please, I have doubled up on an order and cant see how to cancel it. Jean
Laura replied: 7 Dec 23 at 14:11
I am assuming you mean an order on Debbie?s sewing site. If you email enquiries@debbieshoresewing.com with the details of the duplicate orders I am sure that a member of the team will sort it for you.

Should the two arrowed sections measure the same size please on the convertible back pack?
Mel replied: 6 Dec 23 at 21:53
The templates don?t quite measure up but I figured they should be so trimmed one to match the other. The team were passing it on to Debbie but in the mean time I figured it out - would be easier if one of the templates said ?back? but hey ho, I got there in the end. Thank you Laura

Hello ...this is a cry for help ! I put together a wee table runner last night and was pleased ..today looking at it I can see its mismatched in areas....( I matched and pinned the seams each time so dont know what I've done wrong) can it be salvaged without picking it all apart ? Would value your advice x
Blodwen replied: 11 Dec 23 at 09:39
It looks lovely Doreen, in fact I can?t see the mis match. Be proud of it, it really looks fine and very Christmasy.

I?ve cut out all the pieces for the convertible backpack yet I can?t find a piece for the ?back? in the outer fabric - should I use the front and bottom pocket pieces together?
HYSC replied: 13 Dec 23 at 11:03
Hi all, we have now renamed some of the templates. The pocket is one side of the bag. The outer pocket bottom is what is used for the front of the bag, hope that helps! Please feel free to email us if there are any further issues. Best wishes, HYSC x

I think I lost the plot yesterday- sorted myself out today, and have now sewn the QAYG together-really pleased with it. Just got the binding to do. I really do love this club- had a difficult year, and Debbie and this club have kept me going x
HYSC replied: 5 Dec 23 at 10:30
Hi Jayne If you do have any questions that you are stuck on, please send us an email to info@halfyardsewingclub.com with a photograph of where you are up to and then we can get in touch with Debbie and her team to help work out what the next steps are.

Hi, I?m just at the stage where I?m putting the block of the month 2023 quilt together and I?m having a senior moment trying to find the video Debbie did on attaching the Sashing between the blocks. I know I watched it somewhere? can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you
Laura replied: 3 Dec 23 at 18:54
