You will need to print out the pattern on the template tab.

What kind of felt will I buy for making the gnomes
Debbie replied: 16 Aug 23 at 15:58
I like the natural wool, or we do a soft synthetic on the Debbie Shore website, I'd avoid craft felt as it can be a bit stiff...

Hi again I have recently finished my soft furnishings, reupholstery small business and have lots of small pattern books. Do you think these could be used for .... maybe trying out patchwork. Does anyone have any other ideas I could use them for. I really dont want to throw them away.
Annabelle replied: 24 Aug 23 at 07:20
If you live near The Scrapstore, which is a voluntary organisation, that takes all things crafty and then resells them on, you could take them there. Have a look online, just Google The Scrapstore and all be explained. I have taken lots of things there (and also come back with lots of things too)! It is a great way of recycling craft things and when you donate you know things will go to a good home and be appreciated and put to good use.

Hi Y'all Can anyone tell me where I can purchase the beard fur for gnomes. Thanks Ann
Laura replied: 15 Aug 23 at 16:31
If you put faux fur for gnome beards in the search engine you will get a selection of sources https://www.google.com/search?q=faux+fur+for+gnome+beards&rlz=1C9BKJA_enGB929GB929&oq=faux+fur+for+beards&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCAgBEAAYFhgeMgYIABBFGDkyCAgBEAAYFhgeMggIAhAAGBYYHjIKCAMQABiGAxiKBTIKCAQQABiGAxiKBdIBCTE1MjI1ajFqN6gCALACAA&hl=en-GB&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8 Hope this helps

I need some advice please. I have purchased a beautiful soft and fluffy fabric, but have never sewn anything like it before. Has anyone ever sewn this type before, and if so, can you give me any do's and don'ts? Thanks in advance :)

I'm struggling to understand Debbie's way of making wall hanging tabs according to this tutorial: https://www.debbieshoresewing.com/how-to-sew-a-christmas-present-quilting-block-wall-hanging-and-cushion-cover-sewing-tutorial/ It says to fold the bias binding right sides together but there is no mention of turning it so, to my mind, that would leave raw edges all over the place. What am I missing here? Thanks xx
Laura replied: 17 Aug 23 at 09:08
Hi ?I think the tabs on the Christmas Card Holder project on here are similar and it has pictures which always helps https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/projects/november-2022-christmas-card-holder Looks like the step to turn right side out may have been missed on the block wall hanging. Hope this helps :)

I'm making tote bags for the women that work in my daughter's day centre with the gingerbread house panels, but I need to make the men something from that panel has any members have any ideas of what I can make. thank you in advance
Laura replied: 13 Aug 23 at 09:56
Perhaps a quilted coffee mug mat or a drawstring bag with some wrapped sweets inside. My fall back item for men is the glasses/sunglasses case that Debbie made here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Lmyzk7486rw When I make this with a directional fabric I cut the fabric and make a join on the line where the flap comes over the top so that the fabric looks the right side up from front and back. Hope this helps x

I m hoping someone can help,I purchased the advent panel from Debbie, the one that had the minor hole and cut on the seam. So having downloaded the instructions I have cut out all the pieces, what I can't get my daft head round is how to attach the pocket panels to the main body. It says to use the strips of material to make binding and put on the top of the pocket, but then I have a raw edge on the bottom, honestly it's probably a simple fix but I'm lost, sorry for the long post

Just wanted to say I've just learnt how to make a mouse and shirt and put poppers on Thank you Debbie x
Laura replied: 13 Aug 23 at 10:08
That?s lovely x The great thing is that Debbie?s instructions are the same as if you were making an adults shirt so you are actually learning dressmakers skills as well. This is the same for the Maddie dresses etc.

Any advise on how to wash my puff quilt? I'm not sure the stuffing in the puffs would enjoy the washing machine or soaking at all.

Could someone tell me the measurements of belt tie for Maddie dressing gown please Thank you
Laura replied: 10 Aug 23 at 15:04
I think it was stated as 2? x 30 ? when someone asked this question before on this forum. Admin provided this link to the correction page for ?Sew Maddie?. A useful link to save if you have the book. https://www.searchpress.com/_uploads/downloads/Sew_Maddie_errata_full.pdf
