Hello! I?m new, and I?m having a go at making my first quilt using the block a month. Do I make all the blocks each month and then put them on the wadding/sandwich that with the backing when they are all done or do I put each square on it?s own wadding, quilt it, then join them together and finish with the backing at the end? Thank you!

We are just completing the blocks at present and will start the quilting and joining in April when we have some blocks completed to join together.

Hello All, Is there a way to alter the size of a button hole in a ready made shirt? I think I need to increase the size of the button as well, as my dad is now finding it difficult to close the buttons at are currently on his shirts on his own now. Thank you for your time and any answers.
Lynzie replied: 8 Jan 23 at 09:35
My son has dyspraxia which means he struggles with his fine motor skills with his fingers so opening and closing shirt buttons is very tricky. I bought some very thin strips of Velcro online and have sewn the buttons permanently onto the front of the shirt and the Velcro strips inside allow him to open and close the shirts easily. The Velcro isn?t bulky and is less than 1cm wide and very flat, not much thicker than a strip of sellotape. When the shirt is closed, you can?t tell it?s there.

Libraries usually have computer and printing facilities that you can use if that is a possibility for you.

I was going to ask a couple of questions about the BOTM but read through some of the previous questions first. Both my questions were answered so thank you !

Brilliant! It is always better to read through first as many questions are asked frequently.

Am really angry with myself guys... i have made the BOTM... used Fab 3 (pink) instead of Fab 2 (Green) would you now carry on using those round the other way when instructions come out as i only have half a metre of each?
Laura replied: 6 Jan 23 at 09:11
Hi Jilly ?I would use the blocks 1 and 13 as you have completed them but I wouldn?t swap the pink and green on the remainder of the blocks as the pink is such a key component on many of the blocks and I think it would darken the feel of the quilt if dark green was used. I think I would keep to the instructions on the remaining blocks despite the error. I don?t think the material allowance will be that tight if you are careful with your cutting. I made some mistakes on last years quilt and redid a couple of blocks and had enough fabric. If you are worried you could email Debbie to see if she has an end of roll piece of the pink that she could provide/sell to make up for any shortfall. Thanks for sharing about your mistake though as hopefully it will give us all a reminder how important it is to read the instructions and follow the pictures for colour requirements. Hope this helps a little.

Can Debbie suggest what pattern to use for sewing bags for syringe drivers. Some hospitals are appealing for them and I thought it would be nice to make well made ones to cheer up the patients. There are some patterns out there but Debbie?s patterns are so professional, it would be nice if I could use them.

Laura thank you so much for that. I now know what pattern to use and I will adjust the sizing accordingly.

I made Cookie for my new great grandson who is due in early Feb. He?s under wraps to keep him white. I did a sewn nose. Did anyone else have a problem with the nose?
Hazel replied: 6 Jan 23 at 13:18
Your cookie is fabulous as he is, I used a button from a man's waistcoat , mine is for display only x
