I have completed the BOTM and some of my pieces don?t measure correctly and are smaller than the measurements, what can I do ?
Laura replied: 17 Nov 22 at 08:46
Are they very much smaller than they should be?each set of instruction had an unfinished block size that you can check against. If there is a very small difference you could alter the correct sized blocks seam allowance to work with the ones that are too small?.this will have an effect to make your quilt slightly smaller overall. If your blocks are a lot smaller than they should be have you enough white background fabric to put a border around your blocks to resize them? Debbie shows how to add a border to the blocks on the cushions she made for the mid month project for November.

How do you save projects that are coming up to two years old please?

Thanks Megan, easy when you know how :)

Hi I just been looking at the instructions for completing the botm quilt. I am wondering about the width of the binding it says Debbie used 5x 1/4 inch strips just wondering if this is a mistake seems a bit narrow x
HYSC replied: 16 Nov 22 at 14:30
Hello - you are right, this was a typo - it's been fixed now, but it was supposed to say 2 1/4" wide strips, not 1/4". Thanks for letting us know! HYSC

Does anyone know when the instructions for finishing the BOTM will be released. I was expecting them today, as Debbie said in one of the 'lives' that they would be available in the middle of November. Thank you in advance.

The instructions are under projects ?first item.

Hi team Debbie I want to buy a good craft stand lamp as the light fitting in my room is oddly placed and wondered if anyone could recommend one please
Laura replied: 15 Nov 22 at 17:54
There are a couple of stand lamps on Hobbycraft with good reviews so might we be worth researching those. I have not used a stand light so not able to recommend on this occasion.

To Laura re Tree skirt Hi Laura I had cut it 1? vertically from the top. I then thought after sending original query that I should have cut it horizontally measuring across 1?. Don?t know why it didn?t occur to me in the first place! I am new to sewing. The skirt does look normal as below. I have used fabric glue to stabilise the stitching. Thank you

Oh it looks lovely ?I didn?t realise that the tree skirt was in the Winter Collection book until yesterday and suddenly thought of you when I read the instructions. So glad you have resolved it and thank you for letting me know x

Hi, hope it is OK to ask. I usually only sew for friends and family but in a few weeks I?ve got a stall at a small Christmas Fair. Would appreciate ideas for best sellers. Thanks
Laura replied: 9 Nov 22 at 19:11
I think Debbie?s You Tube ?reading cushion? would be great ?quick to make and a great make for presents. I have made a number of Debbie?s snowmen (Mr and Mrs) and they look great and you can get quite quick at making them if you batch make the bodies and hats. The penguin is good as well ?very similar make to the snowman. If you do a Debbie Shore You Tube Christmas search you will get a number of ideas. I hope the stall goes well.

Has anyone made Rosy the reindeer? From the video it appears to have been cut all in one piece taping all the pieces together and then cut. Is that correct? Thank you
Sally replied: 8 Nov 22 at 21:33
Thank you ladies. I will start over.

I was wondering whether Debbie has ever done a dog jacket ? I am particularly interested in one which fits up the legs, covers the tummy and fastens over the Spine. This wet weather....
Rachel replied: 17 Nov 22 at 23:33
I would love her to do a video of that too. Would like her to make a dog collar as well.

Hello, I would like to make the Child's Messenger Bag but need the measurements. It is the one that you made in Spiderman fabric. I found the video on Facebook. Many thanks and kind regards Jean Goldsmith
Shiralee replied: 8 Nov 22 at 09:56
Morning Jean If you look underneath the name of the video. You will see the word more. Go to that then it expands it to a larger white screen and you will see finished More. Press more again and the sizes are there. It seems to come up different on that video Hope this helps. Shiralee

Hi! So I need some guidance, please.... I bought a beautiful Nantucket Summer Mini charm bag kit. I LOVE it EXCEPT the instructions make a bag with exposed seams on the inside. I do not want exposed seams in my lining. I have seen multiple bag tutorials that do not leave exposed seams in the lining but none where the front and back are the same piece of fabric. Can anyone point me to one of Debbie's tutorials to help me with this??? Please and thanks!
Shirley replied: 26 Nov 22 at 14:38
Debbie, do you think on a Saturday or Wednesday you could show how to do this bag with no exposed seams in the lining? Please! I have already made up the pieced outer fabric and cannot seem to wrap my brain around the process of putting on the zipper and lining to not have exposed seams! Thanks for any assistance you can give!

I made the PJ case but would like to make the cat, if I used black felt for the cat, what colour would the eyes be? Do I make the eyes green or amber
Alice replied: 7 Nov 22 at 09:25
Cut out one of each and see which you think looks best.
