I bought some calico for making Maggie but it seems very stiff and looks a bit rustic. I think now I should have bought cotton or a mixed cotton. What have others used please?
Yvonne replied: 23 Oct 22 at 16:14
I have washed it and it feels very stiff. Also got flecky bits in it. I do get sheets etc from charity shops . I use them to line bags etc but hard to find a flesh colour. I don't want to go to a huge expense and buy specialised fabric as not sure how well I can embroider the face. Not something I've done! If cotton is sturdy enough I'll keep a look out instead of using calico. Thank you for your help

Im trying to find the beautiful, hexie shaped machine mat from Debbies machine, with co-ordinating cover, etc. Does this exist? I love the fact it is different.
Laura replied: 18 Oct 22 at 15:02
The crumb cushion is the March 2022 project ?Debbie explains how she adapted this for her machine mat as part of the project.

Has anyone made the utility bag yet? I'm a bit intimidated as it's described as challenging and I can't see a video. I found the duffel bag (easy) challenging but would love to make this. I have navy faux leather calling to me.
Laura replied: 17 Oct 22 at 21:22
The mid month projects do not have a video but the instructions are very good. Debbie did say as an introduction to make sure you read the instructions through before you plan and commence the project. Give it a go?there is always help at hand with the club.

Hi everyone, thank you to all who replied to me regarding my first attempt at sewing with jersey. I have to say it was a complete success and I was delighted how easy it really was. I do have another question though, I normally use a rotary cutter to cut my pattern pieces however with the jersey I struggled even though it was a new blade. I have dexterity issues as I have rheumatoid arthritis and I struggle using scissors. My next project is planned and I wondered if anyone has tips to help me before I get going again. Sorry for the long post.

Hi Laura, thank you so much for your suggestion. I've had a look at them and watched a few You Tube videos and definately think I will get a pair. I can't hurt to give them a go. Fran

Are we able to save favourites to our account for quick easy access?
Julie-Anne replied: 18 Oct 22 at 13:04
Thank you ladies, I can also see there is a notebook option to add notes. I am really loving this page. I am going to start looking for lots more patterns, I'm somewhat late to the party! lol.
