what must I do to join the Debbie Shore half yard club two years? I am already a member and would like to extend to the two year and the I am a current member of the Half-Yard Club and would like to change to the 2 yr subscription so that I can get the discount on books and subscriptions. What am I to do as I am not conversant with the technology and need to know how to do it?
barb replied: 23 Aug 25 at 08:48
Every member gets a discount on books. See blog for the details. The benefits are the same whatever subscription you are on. At the moment I don’t think the 2 year offer is available. It’s monthly or annually, but with all the same access and extras.

Can I please ask if Debbie’s quilt instructions say “Block size 10” square finished, 10 1/2 in unfinished, am I trimming my block down to 10inches?. I am making my first quilt following a block of the month pattern and am not sure how to trim the blocks. Thank you in advance
Mel replied: 20 Aug 25 at 20:26
No don’t trim - once you’ve joined your blocks with a 1/4” seam allowance this will equate to the finished blocks being 10”

Has anyone started sewing the block of the months together yet. Has the instructions been printed. Thank you all
barb replied: 19 Aug 25 at 17:54
Joining instructions are given at the end once all blocks are made. See previous BOTMs under 'sewing projects' for what this might look like.

Hi Everyone 👋 I'm wondering if anyone can help and advise me. I'm looking at quilting a bags/makeup bags, but I have no idea what wadding I will need to use. I have been reading up on the different types of wadding and loft, but its going over my head. Can someone please tell me the wadding and brand to use for quilted bags and makeup bags please. I'd like the quilting to be slightly puffy and not complete flat once quilted....if that makes sense 🤣. Thank you xx

Debbie's shop sells them or any patchwork and quilting will sell them. I usually if I got to a quilt show..

Hi all, If I wanted to make the EASY Flying Geese Cube Storage Bag but without the flying geese = just plain sides = how do i work out the size of pieces I need please? I am sure it is a simple equation but my brain............................... Thank you folks
Mel replied: 18 Aug 25 at 14:08
Make your 4 side pieces 12.5” wide - you can make as deep as you like really but it’s a square box so 12.5” deep too, base should be 12.5 x 12.5” so you’re making 5 squares If you want the depth of the bag/storage box shallower or deeper just adjust your measurements accordingly . So long as you keep width of each side the same it’ll fit the base

Where can I find a video and/or written instructions on how to make a divider inside zipper pocket for a bag with a side gusset? Please help, I'd be eternally grateful. Thank you.
Laura replied: 17 Aug 25 at 10:09
You could adapt this one so that the lining and pocket fits your gusseted bag . I would make a practise lining first and either make it the same as Debbie’s so that the cut out corners give the same depth as your gusseted outer or add the pocket into your gusset side strips on your lining allowing extra for your seam allowance to sew in the pocket. Hope this helps https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DhHJ8OvHnK8&t=1664s

Is this Little Johnny blue and white fabric directional?
barb replied: 18 Aug 25 at 21:06
No. If it were directional then the it would be clear something was upside down or the right way up depending on the direction you are looking !
