good morning everyone I have looked at this month's hysc project in the equipment it mentions a bodkin for elastic but there is no mention of elastic in the listing How much do we need? Sorry to mention this Helene
Helen replied: 1 Apr 22 at 11:28
Good morning Helene, I have just looked at the project and under where it says Gather it says 16 inch wide elastic for the mesh pocket. Maybe you missed that or it has been updated. I hope this helps

Hi, I'm planning to make the craft tote (June 2020) for my niece's birthday but I'm looking to tweak the pattern a little to make the final product look like a hardcover book (with the back, top and flap looking like the cover, and the main body looking like the pages). My difficulty is adapting the back piece to have both the cover and the pages as I'm not confident that the seams would line up properly if I tried to sew the pieces together before attaching to the Bosal. My current thought is to use something like bondaweb to attach the cover piece to the back (almost like applique), but I thought I might ask you all your thoughts in case there's a better solution I've not thought of. Thanks :)

Hi Laura, thanks for your advice! I'll have a look at those videos and will definitely do a mock-up before I have a go at the real thing

How do you use bond-a-web? I?ve ironed it on to fabric but when I peel off back it is not sticky. What am I doing wrong?
Laura replied: 31 Mar 22 at 13:07
You need to iron the appliqu? in it?s final position and the Bondaweb backing will stick once ironed.

Hi Debbie used Alpaca boucl? for Maddie hair I'm finding it difficult to find any in brown . . As anyone used a yarn similar that has been ok.
Claire replied: 1 Apr 22 at 23:32
I used Twist by Go Handmade. But please be warned the ends are starting to fray a bit after being well loved by my three young grandkids. I don't know if the alpaca has the same problem as I've never used it. I would suggest buying two balls (of 50g each) because one is a bit thin. I will be adding a second ball to mine when I have time, but Debbie keeps giving us more great projects to do!!!

I'm doing the block of the month for 2019 - and enjoying it a lot! The block is 4 squares by 4 squares. I'm doing each "line" separately but then have to join the lines together which means I'm sewing over the previous seams. Although I'm ironing line 1 seams to the left, line 2 to the right etc I'm finding it hard to not to make a mess when I join them. Any tips please?

Hi please can anyone help, I plan on making some bags for gifts. Would like to protect the bottom of bags, with some sort of stud to keep them clean. Any ideas where I could buy them or what they are called. Thanks.
