Hi Everyone Desperately need some help with boxed cushions. Unfortunately, I have to recover old sponge which is never easy but my main problem is that the fabric just isnt wide enough to make a continuous placket. I have to make a seamed placket for each corner. Can anyone help or point me to a video which would help me make these corners fit when sewing onto the top piece. Im really finding this very hard. Wish it was a continuous seam.

Debbie has a tutorial on YouTube for a box cushion.

I am relatively new to dressmaking and have a pattern to make a dress. It says to fold the fabric with the selvedges aligned before pinning the pattern pieces on. However, it doesn?t say which way up the fabric should be. Should I fold with the right side inside or outside? Thank you.

There is usually a layout key on the instruction sheet to tell you which way to lay the material for pattern pieces. This may differ for individual pieces or if your material is directional.

Help please I am in the middle of making Debbie's coin purse and for some reason I am not able to move the needle position left to right on my janome machine. Very annoying as wanted to finish this project today. Can anyone suggest anything I can do that may have had the same issue.

Try setting your stitch to 00 that takes the needle over

Hi. Is anyone clued up about CE certification, if i want to sell Toys/Soft items at a craft fair? Thank you. Just seen something on Instagram about UKCA/CE safety testing.
Laura replied: 18 Feb 22 at 19:13
I believe that a safety certificate is required if you are selling anything that a child is likely to play with. Probably best to enquire at the local Trading Standards for guidance/certification.

Does anyone know how i can remove Fleece from a self healing cutting mat? Thanks
Laura replied: 17 Feb 22 at 16:37
There are some good tips on the web about cleaning your mat after using fleece and interfacing. The best way I found is to wrap clear sticky tape (Sellotape) around your fingers and dab across the mat bending the board a little so that you get the fibres out of the cuts. Hope this helps Laura

I wanted to look at members? block of the month photos but see that some which were submitted earlier (mine included) are no longer there. Am I right in thinking each project only has the capacity to show 9 photos so as new photos are submitted, earlier ones are deleted? If so, I think that?s a shame as it?s good to see a lot of different interpretations of the projects.
Sarah replied: 18 Feb 22 at 19:44
I wondered why my photos had disappeared. It's a shame you can only have 9 I love looking at everyones photos.
