Hi Julie here, I?ve been doing January?s log cabin, could someone please tell me what the overall size is when it?s finished, it says unfinished 12 1/2? I?m hoping this is correct because mine going to be about 12? when I see the 4 section together, bit new to this Thanks in advance x

Mine is 12 1/2? square when all 4 squares are sewn together. Each separate square is 6 1/2? which gives 13? for two. Giving the 1/4? seam allowance on both when sewing together will make 12 1/2 ? Think I have got that right (smiley face)

I just opened the package of bosal and it?s all lumpy with big creases. Will this affect the making of sewing machine mat

Jilly's right, a blast of steam without touching it with the iron should melt away the creases!

Hi been trying to making the folded bag from video but it looks so small compared to debbie's instruction stated 14.5 x 13 which I have done is this measurement correct please .. Don't seem to be having a lot of luck with my projects but have been ill since xmas so might b me xx Thanks Sue

Hello, I?m a new member and very excited by the projects. I love making dolls clothes for my two younger granddaughters (one of whom is named Maddie) , as I used to for my daughter. I have just printed off the pattern for Maddie Rag Doll and her first outfit. Going through the day dress instructions carefully I cannot find a fabric measurement for the skirt of the dress. It says 2 metres of fabric is required for the outfit which seems a lot. Am I missing something. Your help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Perhaps pencil trace a picture of the face placing that you are happy with and transfer to the material so you have an outline for your embroidery. I remember doing this at school ( a long time ago) where you scribble over the back of the tracing paper and the pencil drawing will come out on the material. Hope this helps. Laura

Hi Members. I?m fairly new to sewing and finding even the fairly simple projects frustrating. When I start a seam edge off I can?t get the fabric to move on and it either disappears down into the machine or the cotton just accumulates in the same place. What am I doing wrong please. I?m trying to make the tote shopping bag but a quarter inch seam seems impassable. Help please?

If I have this problem I'll slip a piece of tear-away stabilser under the edge of the fabric so I'm starting to sew on that, not the edge of the fabric..

thank you laura, yeah i really like watching Debbie and her voice is so calming. ive just attempted the sewing machine mat and i definitely need to develop my skills with bias binding . \ive got old bedding so im going to have a look and see what i will be brave to attempt.

Morning I have seen a facebook tutorial on making a tote bag with zip dividing pocket I would love to make this but although the fabric I need is there, the cutting measurements are only on the screen for about 10 seconds I know the dividing pocket fabric is cut smaller then lining and outer fabric but have no idea by how much smaller could someone please put cutting measurements on This was on face book last year and I have watched it on you tube as well it is a blue bag with dolphin fabric.
