Below i stated I'm struggling to insert the base panel. The base is an oblong with squared corners not rounded. I can't get a decent corner. Thanks Ann

I’ve just completed the one bag three ways, the one with the zip panel and following Debbie’s instruction it made it easy to fit but don’t skimp on pins, the more the merrier otherwise it will slip. Happy sewing 😁

I have just received my order of a metre of perfect points printed interfacing, but there are 2 layers and no instructions of how to use it. I can't find any video tutorials and so I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice.
Laura replied: 18 Oct 24 at 15:44
Debbie did a live using the interfacing here https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TJk_H7oYUf0&t=2811s&pp=2AH7FZACAQ%3D%3D I hope this points you in the right direction.

hi new to sewing can anyone enlighten me about different strengths of fusible lining ie H640 H630 H250 etc how do you know which one to use? many thanks
Ali replied: 23 Oct 24 at 19:46
Hi when I’m bag making and I want to quilt the bag and I want it to be able to stand upright on its own then I always go for bosal one sided fusible foam. It’s beautiful to sew with and makes bags look very professional when you quilt them as the lines you’ve sewn across the bag to give that diamond look pattern sink nicely into the foam otherwise I tend to use vieseline h640 or H630 for bags or craft fleece which you can buy off Debbie’s website. G700 is lovely for things like clothing and table runners. It’s a woven fabric. If you are making things like oven gloves or table mats where heat is involved then I use insul -bright which is a heat resistant wadding made of polyester fibres and a reflective metal used film. When making a quilt I like to use Hobbs Heirloom wadding which is a cotton blend 80% natural cotton and 20% polyester and tends to shrink less than other wadding’s. Hope this helps.

Hi I have a 10% off code sent to me with an order can I use this as well as my halfyard club 10% off Margaret
Laura replied: 17 Oct 24 at 21:17
There is the opportunity to enter two codes on the check out screens on Debbie’s website so worth giving both codes a try 😊. If you are unsure I would contact Debbie on enquiries@debbieshoresewing.com and a member of the team will help I’m sure.

I was asked by my 28 yo Goddaughter who has autism, to “add” some material to a pair of shorts she found searching the internet. They are a brand from her childhood… the shorts are a size 14-16 (USA sizing)… and she is now a size 22-24 or a 2-3 X. I would also say the shorts appear to be sized small. I thought I’d fool her by finding similar fabric and making a new pair… but she “caught” me and is insisting I “add” material to the existing shorts. Any ideas? I know you’re thinking “just reason with her… and show her that we would need 2 or 3?times the material to make these shorts fit”…. But there is no reasoning with her. I would appreciate any suggestions! Krys in Lansing Michigan

How about incorporating the small shorts into a new pair of short. Use it for outside pockets, back pockets, belt loops, zipper fly cover, waist band etc... Just an idea. x

Just cut out and started to sew Merry mini quilt centre star, however the 1.5 red squares are too small, where am I going wrong?
HYSC replied: 17 Oct 24 at 09:49
Hi Angela, you're correct – the squares are meant to be 2in, we shall now correct this. Sorry you had already cut your fabric and that this had been missed! We hope that helps. Best wishes, team HYSC x
