Whilst I’ve made this myself, it’s only on seeing other makes I wonder if the block has been sewn incorrectly in step 14

I think Debbie is trying to keep you on your toes. Well spotted x When you look at the quilt as a whole picture the pattern for this part is the one on the left side.

Hello. Is there a video to show how to make the ‘pencil pouch’ anywhere or just the instructions? Jan

Thank you Laura I’ll stop looking 😉

Hello Debbie I have made many of your lovely bags, but the one thing I am never completely happy with is that the linings are very often quite baggy. How can you make the linings fit more neatly? Thank you Margaret
Laura replied: 15 Oct 24 at 13:47
Debbie has shown us how to combat this before. Keep the width of your lining to the same as the top of your bag using the same seam allowance so that they fit together. As you sew your lining seam taper in slightly as you work down to the base of the bag. Increase your seam on the base of the lining to match the tapered sides. This will decrease the size of your lining so that it is a snugger fit if you prefer that.

I am making the trivet and my machine is struggling with sewing through the thickness of 3 layers which don’t fit under the foot . Advice please
Laura replied: 14 Oct 24 at 10:08
Most machines have an extra lift to the foot if you lift as normal and then try to lift again …if this works then you might need to put in a denim needle for this project to avoid the needle breaking. Also you might need to use the hand wheel when going over the really thick pieces as the motor might struggle if using the foot pedal. Are you using thick fabrics to make up your trivet as thinner fabrics might reduce the bulk in the seams.

Hi all - codes for the survey responders are being sent out (yesterday and today) We realised that there was a slight issue with the codes not applying - so if you have already put yours in before 9.30am (UK time) today, Friday 11th, and were met with a white screen rather than a success message, please put the code in again!

Thank you for code and extra time on HYSC. I have filed mine for now as only joined in August and they have long date or should I apply it now.
