Hi everone. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to why the left needle of my twin needles broke and the back stitches looked like the lightening stretch stitch. The top stitches were oerfect and not pulled in at all. Thank you. X
Laura replied: 4 Oct 24 at 10:04
The stitches at the back sound as if they are correct as there is only one bobbin thread and it therefore has to pick up the two threads from the needles and this makes the lightening like stitch to the wrong side. Perhaps the needle that broke was positioned in a way to hit the foot or the footplate of the machine or there just may have been a weakness in one needle.

Been away and catching up on live streams. When did she have the toadstools on that I can see in the back ground
Laura replied: 26 Sep 24 at 20:25
Do you mean the mushrooms with faces …they are Kimberley’s design and the pattern is going to be a download on Debbie’s website.

Hello, I wonder if it’s okay to make up projects such as a door stop and gift it to a charity for raising money for the cause? Can anyone advise please? Many thanks from Marie
Laura replied: 26 Sep 24 at 20:22
This is the statement under FAQ’s Can I sell the projects I make from the instructions on the website? We are always happy for you to sell your makes for charity, or to give them as gifts. Debbie is also happy for you to sell your makes based on her designs for profit, as long as it is on a small scale and not mass produced. You can email info@halfyardsewingclub.com, or contact Debbie’s publishers at Search Press for more information.

Can I ask if anyone else experiences connection problems when watching Debbie live sewing. I get so much buffering it is impossible to watch. I thought it was my internet, but whilst on holiday I tried to watch using hotel Internet but unfortunately no improvement 😕😞 xx

Mine isn't a question either just wondering if Laura is ok as she is often giving good advice but not for a while?
Laura replied: 24 Sep 24 at 19:18
Hi Joan …I am still here but have just returned from a fortnights holiday so not able to connect so much. Thank you for missing me 😊… I expect everyone else was glad to have a break from me always popping up 🤣🤣. I’m back now though xx

Not really a question just a moan. I’m making the autumn wreath and I now know free motion embroidery is not my forte. Really not getting on with it. Breaking threads. Bobbing thread tangling underneath and my ‘scribble’ lines are an insult to a toddler’s scribble. Moan over I’ll go and try again 😒😒
Laura replied: 25 Sep 24 at 15:54
Do you use some tear away stabiliser under your fabric when doing free motion embroidery ..I found this helped. I have quite a few old pillowcases with my practise doodles on them ..keep them and you will be surprised how you improve over time 😊. I think it was linked to the project but just in case you missed it Debbie has a piece about Free Motion Embroidery on the Tip section on this site.
