I would love to make a bag like the one in one of Debbie's books called the Large Zipped Bag (in case I have to go back in hospital again), but after trying to make one have given up. I would love just a simple one but now having post concussion, headaches and severe vertigo, struggle with just patterns, does any know of a bag that has a video attached, many thanks for any help.

Hello Valerie. Sorry to hear of your health issues. There are of course many bags on this site with videos but some may be a bit challenging to start with What about this one as a simple make? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fNjGuhTv6E This one has a simpler version but can then develop to more complex https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/projects/one-bag-three-ways Hope this helps. Enjoy your project what ever you choose.

has anyone else filled out the survey Debbie sent the other day? I filled it out completely and pressed submit but the sight did not say it had been completed. I have also checked my email to see if it had been accepted. Debbie is offering a free two month extension of your membership for filling it out. Thanks. Joyce

Now, I want to sew sew sew but I'm all out of ideas. I got lots of Christmas fabrics, any ideas on what to make? Other than gift bags? Xx

I have been given a Gemini (Electric) Machine. Does anyone know where I can get Hexagon Dies for fabric, please? I have just discovered EPP! (I believe they do not have to be Gemini.)
Smocking Lady replied: 25 Sep 24 at 17:32
Thank you - I hadn't thought of them. Will take a while to check through as the filters are not very specific but thank you.

Wat stich do i use to take up my uncles trousers please x
Laura replied: 24 Sep 24 at 19:35
Have you got a blind hem foot on your machine as that would work but can be fiddly in a round 😊. I think I would be tempted to hand stitch with a neat hemming stitch (just catching the outer fabric) with as close a colour thread as you can get so that you hardly see anything from the right side. If you are not sure then iron on hemming tape can be really useful and is available in most online and local shops. Hope this helps a little 😊

Thanks Mel, l only normally go to the craft shows at the NEC, l do sew lots of stuff but not much quilting unfortunately.
Mel replied: 15 Sep 24 at 20:04
Quilting becomes addictive! I started my sewing journey only last May making bunting and pounches. I progressed to making bags and then discovered quilting. I had tickets to the quilt show this year but couldn’t make it. All I know is that whilst there’s hundreds of quilts and stalls, the stalls sell their usual wears and that’s not just quilt stuff. I hope to go next year.

Random question, I note that Debbie has attended the NEC previously, anyone know if she is likely to attend again?
Mel replied: 15 Sep 24 at 13:39
Festival of Quilts next year most likely

Good evening everyone. I am looking to buy an adjustable dressmaker dummy. There are so many to choose from on Amazon. Ideally size 10-16. Can someone be able to help me please. Thank you in advance
Laura replied: 24 Sep 24 at 19:48
I think it is really down to what you feel you can afford when it comes to a dressmakers dummy. I would certainly go for one that has a dial mechanism for altering the size of the bust, waist and hips as a minimum…it is good to get one where you can change the height as well. Think whether you want to be able to move it around as wheels can be advantageous if that is the case. You may find a suitable one on second hand sites if people are downsizing etc.
