Please can someone tell me where this pattern is ? i know i could box out a bag bottom following Debbies instrcutions but how do you do it with contrasting fabric please ?

Laura replied: 18 Jul 24 at 22:59
It is similar to adding a different fabric to the bottom of a bag which Debbie does quite often. Cut your main panel and two side pieces in contrast fabric. Sew the strips together (allow for your seam allowance when cutting) and then add your interface/fleece once the panel is complete. You might find some of this video useful. Just change the placement of the contrast as above. Hope this helps. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v5ECEKS4tIo

Hi, Please can I have a bit of advice. What do people use to back their baby quilts? Many thanks Sarah
Tina J replied: 17 Jul 24 at 06:11
Hello Sarah I use natural quilt cotton batting as it’s washable. It’s very soft and not thick. I use it on quilted garments also. I hope this helps. Tina x

Hi everyone. I’m planning to make a clutch size bag and I’m not sure what weight of fusible fleece to use. May I please ask your advice…….? Thank you Judi
Laura replied: 18 Jul 24 at 23:20
Hi Debbie used H640 in this one https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mPSHfKHMo-M&t=2 You could use Bosal if you want it to be a firmer bag. Debbie also uses the craft fleece for firmness but I tried quilting with that and as it is thin but firm the stitches didn’t seem to stand out as you would expect when quilting… this might be better if you used H640 (on the quilt side) and craft fleece together.

Forgive me if I have missed something but I’m catching up with the block of the month beach scene sew along. I’ve done the clamshell row on week 5 (sand dunes). The finished size is 18.5. across. On the picture it looks as if the sand dunes go right across the panel which ends up as a finished size of 38” approx so should there be 2 x 18 clam shell blocks?
Viv replied: 13 Jul 24 at 09:11
Many thanks Barb, I was eeking out some yellow fabric from my stash and thinking how great I was at getting the clam shells out of it but now realise I will have to resort to buying a bit more!!!! When it comes to the beach hut block!!!!! Thanks again, Viv

Hi can anyone recommend or know what type of thermal wadding to buy for insulated lunch box/water bottle holder in DS half yard Summer collection book? Thank you
Laura replied: 12 Jul 24 at 12:13
The Bosal Thermal Fleece is good and sold by the half a metre. You can buy cheaper insulated bags in supermarkets etc and then use that as a lining in your project if it is just a small item you are making.

Hi I'm making a quilt for a child's bed would it be better to quilt it before putting fleece backing on or with. Just not sure what is best
Joan c replied: 12 Jul 24 at 12:15
Hi I'm making binding as instructions from one of Debbie's books. Thank you both good advice as always on here.x

Hi Everyone. I'm just starting to make this months project and would like your thoughts - would you make the zip panel in the main fabric or the lining fabric (bag 3). My outer bag is pattern, the lining is plain. Thank you. Kate Haughey x
Kate replied: 10 Jul 24 at 18:08
Hi Laura thanks for your imput. I will use the outer for the zip panel. Kate xx

Me again I e ordered some stuff from Debbie shop but think I might have ordered the wrong stuff it doesn?t matter but how do I find my order again just to check. Thank you
Laura replied: 7 Jul 24 at 19:35
Debbie used the 505 spray on the wrong side of cork to fold and keep her handles in place on a recent bag so it should be fine. I would avoid getting it on the right side of the cork if you can avoid it as it may stain/leave a mark.

Hi every one could anyone tell me is there video of the cork base tote bag Dennis made on create and craft a few weeks ago. I have the instructions but I?m better with visual. Thank you
