Would anyone have a link to the toy box with farmyard animals on please ,thank you
Laura replied: 3 Aug 24 at 09:06
Hi Margaret ..it is best to email the HYSC team at info@halfyardsewingclub.com and ask them if they can consider your request and send a link. Club members have been asked not to share project details direct as part of our terms and conditions of membership. If you are in a hurry for the pictures you might find some useful ones by putting free farmyard animals templates in a google search.

Help please. I have been asked by my granddaughter to make her a quilt as a wedding gift. She loves very pale pastel colours, as do I. I bought the fabrics from Debbie at the Festival of Quilts today. However, whilst I have the perfect fabrics, I don’t have a pattern!! I am very new to quilting. Only made toys and bags for many years. I bought Jelly Rolls. Only because the shades were perfect. Can any if you very clever ladies out there recommend a pattern using jelly rolls that can still be gorgeous but fairly easy. Sorry for the long message xxx
Alanna replied: 11 Aug 24 at 16:06
I have done a racer quilt with a jelly roll. I just sewed the strips together across the short edge to make a very long strip then sewed together down one long side and cut. There are instructions on YouTube

Anyone see where the August returning 'Laptop Bag' pattern and instructions are on the site?
barb replied: 2 Aug 24 at 15:46
The returning projects are normally added mid month rather than at the start so its a bit early to be looking yet. Around 15th is a good time. Hope this helps

Hello Half Yarders new member today. I’m hoping to make a really nice looking clutch back for a friend whose birthday is on Christmas day so nothing christmassy. I am rsther new to bags and have watched many of Debbie’s tutorials but which one is easy yet still looks rather classy as a gift. I think i may have to practice a lot. Many thanks.

Hi what does the term ‘layering’ mean on a pattern? ( I can’t find anything in Debbie’s tip section for this technique) I’m new to dress making attempting a sleeveless child’s dress! Thank you
Laura replied: 31 Jul 24 at 18:45
Sounds like you are doing really well..it is a good pattern to start with as it has a lot of dressmaking techniques in it so you will be learning for future makes. Enjoy the process 🤗

Hi anybody have ideas for a way to display bags at a farmers market? I have about a 3 meter by 3 meter area and am looking for ideas on how to display so people can look but not disrupt my stock so I need to continually straighten them up ideally?
Laura replied: 1 Aug 24 at 19:43
Perhaps hanging them from a stand alone clothes rack or clothes horse/dryer with some large pegs. If you have a table you could display them in individual shoe boxes so when people want to lift them out for a closer look they do not disturb the rest of your display. Pinterest has some ideas of display if you go on the site and search craft fairs.

Hello If I am not on facebook, how can I watch the live club please I live in New Zealand and the time difference makes it difficult for me to see .
barb replied: 30 Jul 24 at 14:07
Generally to HYSC lives are not on facebook now. They are live on this site. Later they are uploaded under blog so you can see them anytime. For example here is last months...... https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/blog/live-stream-june-2024-scrappy-journal-cover

Confused about template for three way bag I'm new to bag making so thought I would try the "simple" version of the July project. I must be a bit dim because I don't understand the template. How can a template that small make a bag with these measurements??? I don't get it. Perhaps someone can point out to me how to use the template. Thanks
Laura replied: 27 Jul 24 at 21:46
Debbie has a printed pattern topic in the tip section which you may find useful for the Half Yard Club templates 😊 I have linked it here https://www.halfyardsewingclub.com/tips/using-printed-patterns

I’m going to make a jumpsuit but my pattern needs to be ‘graded’ due to my different measurements. What is the best way to do this please? Many thanks, Sue.

Glad I could help 😊…wanted to check if my emojis worked because they never have before and I spotted them on your reply 🤣

At which point do you remove the paper when making the gift bag with epp poinsettia?
Sherry replied: 24 Jul 24 at 15:29
Remove the papers once every piece is stitched together and you have a complete poinsettia - and before you stitch it onto the bag itself. Hope this helps.
