Hi everyone. Does anyone know if I can sew 2 strips of thermolene together to make the size I need please. Thank you in advance x
Laura replied: 21 Oct 23 at 19:03
It is a sewable interface so I would butt the edges together and zig zag stitch across the joins to hold them together ..this will ensure that the levels are the same when you are completing your project.

I want to make placemats in velvet for Christmas with a scallop edge, has Debbie done a tutorial covering this please?
Laura replied: 17 Oct 23 at 12:36
I would probably adapt the scallop pattern here for the placemats https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lJqVZQiCL3o You could use thermal lined fusible foam as your interfacing for the placemats if you are using for hot plates/dishes. Hope this helps.

Just trying to put row 3 of the BOTM together. Blocks and sashing in between are fine. However, the crossways sashing for the top and bottom of the rows seem to be to be too short. I also seem to have too many pieces of wadding and extra front sashing. Just really confused - again!!
Jayne replied: 10 Oct 23 at 08:50
Thank you Adele. That makes sense now - the instructions say two 12.5 stripe- three makes much more sense. Perhaps that needs to be amended. Thank you again for your help.

I understand that I can get a discount on debbieshoresewing website but have to go there from here to buy. Is that right it was I dreaming? I cannot find a link. Can you help please?

Is there a foolproof way of making sure both halves of a magnetic snap fastening on a bag flap aligns perfectly with its buddy on the bag body? I'm sure I've seen Debbie demonstrate that.
Caro replied: 8 Oct 23 at 20:46
Yes if you go to her YouTube videos when she is making a bag with Magnetic snap she shows you how to insert both halves to fit properly. I am sure there will be someone who can point you to an exact video otherwise look for one with a clutch. Hope this helps somewhat.

I am making Tattys hat from Debbie?s Gnome book but I?m stuck on instructions 15, 16 and 17. Could someone walk me through it. I enclose a photo of where I?m at

Laura replied: 5 Oct 23 at 12:01
You should have a 12? x 1 1/2? strip of taupe felt for the hat as mentioned in the ingredients list on page 31. This strip makes the riser between the two circles to form the hat. As per the picture in step 16 join the two short ends of the strip and then whip stitch the joined strip to the small circle. Join this top section to the centre of the large circle to form the hat as seen in the picture on step 17. I think you have just missed the requirement of the strip which has confused you. Hope this helps.
