Just a warning. BE CAREFUL WITH ROLLER CUTTERS. I got a little careless and ended up in A&E for 4 hours. Cut the tip off of one finger and gashed the other. ????

Lorraine, thank you they are healing well. It has taught me to take more care. My husband has bought me a chain glove.

BOTM - Hi, can I ask what measurements the 4 individual blocks should be? I've finished mine and they are 5" square but I'm wondering if I've went wrong somewhere are the 4 strips to connect them are 5.5"? I trimmed to the edge of the paper and the dotted line was definitely on the template so don't think I chopped off the seam allowance by mistake!
Gillian replied: 8 Sep 23 at 09:54
I think my printer made them a couple of 8ths too small, blaming the tools obviously lol. I made a second set of squares that also came up a bit small so I'm now going to attempt to make the centre pink and green strips bigger to get the end block up to 12.5 inches. Will need to get my calculator out. Hopefully I won't run out of fabric before the end.

My hardly used 10 year old sewing machine isn?t stitching properly . I?ve done everything possible to correct it ( read the manual through out). Nothing works. I?ve been told it will be cheaper to buy a new machine than pay to have it professionally fixed !! What do you think I should do. .? Thank you xxx

I'm really struggling to follow the instructions for the BOTM. The photos aren't very easy to see what's happening - I can't really tell a difference between the ones for step 1 & 2! Can anyone clarify please? A video would be really useful I think. Thank you.

Sewing with tartan? Hi everyone, was wanting to ask if anyone has used proper wool tartan before? I'm lucky enough to live within walking distance of a brilliant scrap store in Scotland which has loads of proper wool tartan seconds and offcuts etc as we have lots of textile mills in the area. I would love to attempt a Harris Tweed inspired bag but not sure if it would be too delicate a fabric or what I would be best to interface it with? I did make bridal flower ties and other wedding bits last year and it's blooming fluffy stuff and I had fibres flying everywhere! Thanks and wishing you all a great weekend.

I made a wallet, with some tartan we got from Edinborough, it frays, but just interface with either a light, or medium interfacing... it works...

HYSC replied: 4 Sep 23 at 09:11
Hi Juliet, thanks for mentioning this - pdf template should now be amended. Best wishes, HYSC team.

Hi all ,for the poncho top how do you measure the size needed for the neck template ?
Laura replied: 1 Sep 23 at 14:39
Debbie has provided a one size fits all template with the project so no measuring required.
