Hi Debbie and other club members. ?Im in the process of finishing the Kimono from February. ?Ive taken my time since Im not a very experienced sewist. ?Its coming together really well. ?Ive just one question. ?The underarm seams are very bulky, I know to snip into the seam at this point but should I have curved the sewing line as well? ?Its probably a daft question to ask ?to be honest but I would like to make a good job of it as its going to be a present for my sister. Thanks Debbie for all your hard work compiling these patterns. ? Im getting such a buzz from learning to sew after many years of thinking its beyond me. ?I suppose COVID lockdowns have given us all the opportunity to learn new skills. ? Best wishes ? Michele ?x
Debbie replied: 1 Apr 21 at 10:06
Hi Michelle, there's a slight curve under the arm, snip up to the stitches, you could trim away a little of the seam allowance if that helps, and glad you're enjoying the sewing!

I have an old Brother sewing machine & I don't have a facility to lower the feed dogs (think that's what it's called). Am I able to do free motion with my machine without lowering them? Is there a way round it? I'd love to do the Wonky Street projects. Thank you, Cheryl
