I am a beginner at sewing,I am teaching myself through YouTube and reading books and magazines. How do I increase the project patterns in the back of the books by 100% 200% etc.. I do not have a printer and my local library don't understand me. Thank you

Stationery shops such as Rymans will often have copiers too, and staff who can help! If your library has a photocopier, there should be a setting on it labelled "Reduce/Enlarge" "Size" "Scale", or something along those lines, which will be given as a percentage (100% is the default value). If you wish to double the size of your pattern, set this value to 200%. If you wish to triple the size, set it to 300%, and so on and so forth. Then simply press the "copy" button as usual.

I'm using Debbie's occasion build a bag book and I'm doing my first bag with a separate base. I'm new to sewing btw, been a couple of months. Ican do it all but when it comes to putting the base in the instructions just state "now sew in the base " I'm a bit unsure on how to do this! I wish debbie had elaborated on this because I havent a clue. Any help please i would be grateful?

Hi Hazel so if i was you mark the bag where the base is to go into, i.e mark the front middle and the back also the side and do the same with the base, then pin or clip right sides together making sure that each of your marks match, but each corner have 1/4" over so you can turn and sew the corner easier, once you have sew the base in turn right side out and press your bag, and then top stitch this helps the seams to be stronger and the top stitch gives it a nice finish to you bag. I hope this help you. happy sewing.
